Sabrina Iwasaki, SpEd Consultant
Sabrina’s passion for students with learning differences grew from her love of children and her deep set belief that all students are capable learners with assets. Sabrina’s interest and expertise goes beyond the students themselves into the tools, systems and structures that support them. Sabrina has over 20 years of experience in the IEP process and has engaged with countless families and educators in making the IEP a collaborative and productive tool that creates rich and engaging learning environments. A seasoned special education classroom teacher, trainer, and district specialist in San Francisco Unified, Sabrina provided teachers and leaders with training, tools and coaching to best serve students with IEPs. Mission & Philosophy
Concentric SpEd provides students, families and educators with concrete tools, strategies and solutions to support students with special needs in a variety of educational environments.
We believe that all students should be known and supported to succeed and thrive in their learning environment.
We believe that educators and schools should have the tools and training to effectively teach and provide supportive systems for students with special needs.
We believe that when students, families, teachers, schools and systems work collaboratively, we can create better experiences for students together.
We believe that by knowing and understanding the strengths, needs and goals of all people involved in our process, we build deeper relationships, problem solve more effectively, and change tangible outcomes and experiences for students, families and educators.
What people have to say about Sabrina
Christy Sotter, MACCC-SLP
“There is simply no other consultant who compares with Sabrina. She is a consummate professional with a wealth of knowledge, who consistently achieves effective results. Her ability to find solutions with families and professions is matched only by her compassion. I consider myself lucky to have worked alongside her, and years later I am still applying the knowledge she shared.”
David Teplitz, Former Student & UC Berkeley Graduate
“Sabrina is a wonderful kind genius who taught me how to type. She was always patient and great at working with me. My life was so much better after I met Sabrina. Before I met her I did not have any way to communicate with other people. After Sabrina taught me how to type to communicate I was able to do very important things like talk to my family and go to school. I do not know what my life would be like now if I never had never met Sabrina.”

“Sabrina was the advocate we needed to ensure our daughter's educational goals were being addressed by her school. Navigating a school's or district's special education services can be very confusing and difficult. Sabrina helped guide us to articulate plans and goals for our meetings with teachers and administrators, and know what to push for in creating the best plan for our daughter's middle school education.”
Danny, San Francisco Parent
“My family was fortunate to have Sabrina work with our son for seven years. His life was forever changed by knowing her. He is a nonspeaking autistic and started working with Sabrina 24 years ago when being nonspeaking meant you were considered severely intellectually disabled and automatically relegated to life with very limited educational opportunities. Sabrina is the ultimate problem solver and devised a method of teaching David how to type to communicate. His being able to communicate enabled him to display his intellect and be included in a regular classroom where he excelled academically. She trained the rest of his team on how best to support David in the classroom and coordinated with teachers and the school district in a a very efficient and pleasant matter. It took someone with Sabrina’s keen intellect and practical nature to devise a way to teach him to type. My son often compares her to Helen Keller’s Annie Sullivan and he is right. I can only imagine what Sabrina has accomplished for children with less severe needs. Last May, David was one of the two first nonspeaking autistics to graduate from UC Berkeley. He graduated with honors and we owe this all to Sabrina. She is a gem and we are eternally grateful to her.”

She is the advocate and coach we needed!”
